Microsoft 365 Setup: DNS with Other Provider

If your DNS records reside with your hosting account, your mail settings will be automatically configured when you purchase Microsoft 365.

If your DNS settings are hosted with another provider, you must log in with the other provider and make these revisions to set up your account* properly. The links below will take you to Microsoft's recommended DNS entries. DNS changes usually take effect quickly; however, it can occasionally take longer to update across the internet.

DNS/MX records to add:

  1.  Add a TXT or MX record for verification
  2.  Add MX record to route email
  3.  Add three CNAME records
  4.  Add a TXT record for SPF to help prevent email spam
  5.  Add two SRV records
